چکیده

The paper reports on the noise and vibration control of a 451 m long steel railway bridge. The vibration and noise generation mechanisms were investigated first. Vibration of the rail fixture, sleeper, horizontal and main girders and the steel walking plates were measured, together with noise measurements in a number of measuring points both in the close vicinity of the bridge and at larger distances. The obtained vibration characteristics were compared to results of numerical calculations, enabling the identification of vibration propagation mechanisms. The noise radiation of the investigated bridge section was investigated by means of a combined experimental numerical method. Eventually, both the horizontal steel walking plates and the main vertical girders were identified as major noise radiators. Based on the investigations a combined noise control package, including the vibration isolation system CDM ISOFERPONT and replacement of the steel walking plates by a composite plate structure, was developed and realized. The final measurements have shown that the average vibration and noise levels were reduced by 5 to 8 dB. .

Effects of track characteristics on dynamic responses of train-bridge systems

High speed trains are an indispensable part of rapid transportation systems in many countries. As the fastest means of transport on the ground, these trains are extremely sensitive to the terrain and track conditions. Geometrical irregularities and mechanical characteristics of the track, together with inconsistencies in the lane (including bridges that support the track) are considered importa...

Optimal Nonlinear Energy Sinks in Vibration Mitigation of the Beams Traversed by Successive Moving Loads

Optimal Nonlinear Energy Sink (NES) is employed in vibration suppression of the beams subjected to successive moving loads in this paper. As a real application, a typical railway bridge is dynamically modeled by a single-span beam and a traveling high-speed train is simulated by a series of successive moving loads. Genetic algorithm is employed as the optimization technique and optimal paramete...

Displacement monitoring of a Long-Span Arch Railway Bridge using Digital Image Correlation (DIC)

There is an escalating demand for condition monitoring enhancement of transport infrastructures worldwide. Bridges are of vital importance in transportation infrastructure and need such monitoring. In this research, a non-contact vision-based technique called Digital Image Correlation (DIC) was used to calculate the bridge displacements. A high frame rate camera with 4K capability was used for ...

Effect of Rail Corrugation on the Amount of Train Induced Vibrations near a Historical Building

The evaluation and control of the trains induced vibrations needs even more attention in the case of underground tracks which passes near to monuments and historical sites. The rail corrugations which occur due to the wheels’ impulse loads during the operation period of underground railway tracks, usually amplify the ground borne noise and vibration. In the current study, the mentioned phenomen...

Vibration of Train-Rail-Bridge Interaction Considering Rail Irregularity with Arbitrary Wavelength

A generation method for the rail random irregularity with arbitrary wavelength interval (WI) is developed, and its accuracy and efficiency are demonstrated. Then a moving wheel-rail-bridge interaction element is derived to establish the finite element equations of motion for the train-rail-bridge interaction system, and the flow chart of assembly and calculation for the system equations is give...
